“While the deeds and exploits of the Warrior of Light are well known throughout Eorzea and the Star, a majority of Eyrie Kisne’s life prior to the Seventh Umbral Calamity remains unknown. Most of what is known has been gleaned by members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn during Eyrie’s tenure within their ranks; while other accounts remain within word of mouth, or in paper documentation. Even as such, many closest to them are remiss to speak on matters of the Warrior of Light’s personal history.”“What little is known is discussed below:”“Eyrie was born into an unknown Veena village within the Skatay Range boarding Othard and Dalmasca over a hundred years ago. In reminiscing, they remarked that their village lived a semi-nomadic and isolated lifestyle, tending to various outposts deep into the mountains peaks and glacier valleys. This was born out of necessity compared to other Viera villages as a means of tending to their herds of mountain sheep. The village did have a stable main settlement most of the year within the deep upper valleys of the mountains, and only in the winter they would relocate below the tree line to temporary outposts.""They were raised alongside a fraternal twin brother, along with their two older sister's four children; they were all a rather rambunctious bunch, stirring up both trouble and help in equal measure. Eyrie was the quiet and unobtrusive one of the bunch--an avid observer rather than participator--even in their own childhood. Words came to them slowly, parsing their thoughts a difficult endeavor. It kept them at a distance--their slowness and uncertainty amongst others who moved and talked far more than them paralyzing.""Often as a result they preferred to let their brother speak for them rather than voicing their own thoughts. Letting him take responsibility for them as their older of the two.""Outside of time spent with their twin, they were ever close to their mother. So much so they would rather spend time with her than their fellow children. They had an avid enthusiasm in her work with medicines and white magic, albeit they were not blessed with later innate talent like their twin. Many of their fleeting memories of her are ones of her tender magic, her deep innate sadness--one they never quite learned the cause of--and her delicate embroidery work.""As the years crawled by and they grew older, they would spend more time with their father when he returned to shelter during the harsh winters, learning to wield bows, knives and lances--tools that would serve them well when it came time for them to join their father in the wilds. They excelled the most with the bow, and came to share their father's love of song and poetry, eventually marrying all three into what the people of Gridania and the Shroud refer to as a Bard.""They became a Wood Warder at the age of thirteen when they hit puberty as is both their choice and custom, and it would be a position they would hold for over a century. Tis a time in their life Eyrie speaks the least about and is remiss to touch upon. Once they spoke of the death of their father when they were eighteen--a great fall, caused by thick ice on trusted rocky hand holds. It would be an accident they nevertheless would take blame for, and would drive a wedge between Eyrie and their mother.""They would talk briefly after the events of the Final Days about having once taken a wife, and the pair had three children. One of whom died not long after her birth, the others now fully grown. Their eldest, a daughter named Aoife, resides within the city state of Ishgard. Their second eldest, a son named S'ver, still lives in the Skatay range. Neither have seen each other in many long years."

"They continued the Wood Warder tradition, watching and waiting as the Garlean forces began their earnest campaigns from Ilsabard down into the eastern reaches of Othard. When Garlean forces drew closer to the Skatay Range several years after the initial invasion of Dalmasca, Eyrie left behind their homeland and joined with the Imperial Army."
"Other scant memories of what Eyrie has spoken of with their past leave questions of if their departure from home was only motivated behind their desire to protect their home, and not further strife within their family. Nothing remains conclusive.""However, rumor and speculation persisted of the validity of the Warrior of Light actually being a member of the Imperial Army. However, records retrieved from Garlean installations within Bozja dictate they served in the IV Legion under Noah Gabranth not long before the Bozjan Incident under the name Silvanus oen Maris.""Furthermore, Garleans records gleaned from the Ala Mhigan palace after it was recaptured further indicated Eyrie was transferred to the XIV legion and served under Gaius van Baelsar in the original annexation of Ala Mhigo and the attempt to push into the city states of Eorzea. The records further state that Silvanus oen Maris went missing on the outer reaches of the Fringes near the border with Gridania. Presumably efforts were made to capture them as a defector, but pressing deeper into Gridanian lands at the time proved a difficult task and ultimately deemed not worth the resources to pursue."“Written accounts of their whereabouts after remain sparse, but Eyrie freely discussed the years following their service:""After fleeing west through Gridania, they traveled much further north; past what is known today as Snowcloak and up into the Ishgardian held territory of Western Coerthas. It was there where they met and befriended a sect of Ishgardian mercenaries claiming lineage to the Ishgardian Paladins of old."It was there where they were taught much of their skills with magic and swordcraft along with the tenets of the Ishgardian Paladin order. The importance of duty, honor--to be a shield to those who cannot defend themselves. To carry Halone's love, that battle is only justified to defend. Once their training was complete, they were gifted a soul crystal along with the knowledge of summoning an aetheric sword and a constant companion: an Ishgardian snow white chocobo they named Gingko”

“Over the following years as tensions rose with the Garleans, they took on adventuring with several mercenary companies free Paladin and Bard, working within La Noscea, Coerthas and Thanlan--even so far as Gridania and the edges of Gyr Abania. References, curiously enough, include their tangential employment amongst the newly reformed Grand Companies of Eorzea, as well as a mercenary for The Circle of Knowing in the months before the Calamity. This work would bring them almost to ground zero of the Calamity--when Dalamud fell from the sky and Bahamut burst forth from his allagan prison.""Varied word of mouth accounts from civilians to soldiers not far from the destruction in Coerthas describe a strong willed Viera protecting and guiding them to safety during that vicious battle. More accounts follow of their wandering through the remains of the battlefield in search of survivors and the deceased with the hope of returning them back home."As the Grand Companies took over the work, they journeyed back up into the Coerthas Highlands to seek out the Ishgardian Paladins who survived. Together with what remained, they traveled across the rapidly changing highlands seeking out villages and hamlets, hoping to provide what assistance they could. Alphinaud Leveilleur's reports of the Dragonsong War made mention of Eyrie telling brief stories of the places they encountered. Villages buried beneath ice and snow in a matter of weeks. Finding homes with families huddled together, having all frozen to death. It was tiresome work and eventually they took their leave of the Paladins once more, returning back to Eorzea.""Eyrie tells it that they spent much of their time in Ul'dah working with Momodi of the Adventurer's Guild, trying their best to help the refugees and those most displaced by the Calamity. They often saw the worst Ul'dah had to offer over those years from both the citizenry and those in power.""It's not until five years after the Calamity that there officially arises the name Eyrie Kisne within the log books of the Adventurer’s Guild in Ul’dah. Momodi tells it that up until that point, Eyrie had never given her a name to record within the logs. Archon Thancred Waters recalled often seeing them spending time in the Quicksand taking on jobs and spending free time chatting with Momodi. He too never learned of their name.""At Momodi's recommendation due to their skill and talents, they made the journey to the Archer's Guild within Gridania. there eyrie's name appears within the logs of the Adventurer’s Guild within the city state--one step along the path that would lead them to becoming the fabled warrior of light. the defender of our star."

“Despite the full records the scions of the seventh dawn kept of eyrie kisne since they joined the order, there is little personal reflections or details shared within their own written reports, or the reports of others of the events prior to the bloody banquet. A reflection upon eyrie’s own difficulties to put their feelings into thoughts, and thus put them to paper. Be that as it may, given time to collect their thoughts, they do speak freely upon the events since their joining of the scions.”“To the contrary of what many others saw and believed, eyrie often felt a distinct detachment from the scions. How little it felt like they truly belonged outside of the gift of the Echo and the boon it brought to the fight against the Primals plaguing Eorzea. To them the ideas of the scions were grand ambitious--easy to say and declare, but mattered little without actions to carry them. long since used to bearing the burdens of others, eyrie long foresaw the role they would be assigned. the bearer of minifilia's long awaited dream; a duty they would bit thei, it felt too big to be helping—too grand of an ideal to think that so many problems would be solved in this manner. This line of thinking stretched far back into the times following the Calamity—when such lofty goals of the scions would be laughed at as mere dreams.""Present concerns would fill one’s mind— wondering where one might find their next meal when the harvest had been ruined, or a clean source of water to drink when ash and mud choked the rivers and wells. The Twelveswood burned for weeks as the people of Coerthas froze to death in their homes.”“In Ul’dah it was enough of a difference to share unleavened bread with half a dozen orphaned children, memorizing their faces just in case they would never see them again. To scribbled them down in their journal just so someone would remember their faces and names. It was enough to pitch tents for the refugees, and stay in their camps. Sharing what little they all had while listening to their lives, and the shattered remains they had left."“It was the small things, they would say.”“Eyrie’s extended age would put matters into greater perspective: being just over one hundred and fifty years old—only half of their lifespan—time moves differently. While for some the events of the calamity would be hazy memories in the coming years, it remains at the front of Eyrie’s thoughts as if it had happened not six months prior.”“Thus their tenure amongst the scions came with loneliness and listlessness—the eager sense to be moving and engaging even as they traveled about Eorzea. Often waylaid by speaking to the many peoples along their path, even as they were beckoned back to the Waking Sands time and time again.”“They would not place blame upon the scions, instead speaking of it as it was their own fault.”Eagerly did Minfilia explain to them their gift—a gift they knew and yet had no name for—but knew little of the ways of controlling it, much to Eyrie’s chagrin. Twas the nature of their gift that left them eager for a solution, and further thus remiss to speak on the subject.”“It had never been easy to explain their gift, and time brings no answers to how to make someone else understand their gift for the woe it truly was. A not uncommon issue, they would find out with time. They describe their echo in simple terms: the manifestation of it left with an inexplicable emotional tie to the subject of their vision—in the broad sense of the word, they loved the subjects of these visions. Neither friend nor foe was exempt from this feeling.”
